Do Your Best On The Test

I'm sure you have one in your state. In Florida it's the FCAT. It's the state exam to ultimately decide a child performance. Schools have put way too much focus on these test. I can't go anywhere in my school without seeing some stupid halfassed poster that says "Do Your Best On The Test" with FCAT written on it 5 times at random spots. 90% of these posters probably actually toke less than 5 minutes to make.

Do they think this is actually is gonna motivate a kid to do good on the test. Is there some kid out there sayin

"Wow, that poster made me want to 'do my best on the test.' I was just gonna put down c for every one but this poster is making me think about my future and about how I should work harder."

In my High School (Sandalwood High), the posters are everywhere. In my 'pod' or hallway, I decided to count how many posters per yard Is in my hallway, which would give me a good estimate on the school overall. It's a 20 yard hallway. There are 9 posters in that hallway. That's slightly more than a poster every 2 yards!!!

I'm sick and tired of these schools thinking just saying something will make a difference. Like those giant posters (Well done computer done ones) that way "I will be heard" with some smug faced moron singing into a broom with a smile from ear to ear. You look like a janitor. What are you smiling about.

Our school sucks at English. Probably cause we have a shitload of Mexicans and other non English speaking Americans. But that's another article I'll be sure to forget to write. Since the beginning of the year, we've only, ONLY been working on FCAT practice book and worksheets! Our English teacher didn't even have to plan out 1 day of the year. Just give us some pages and then read a book. That's another thing, the books the schools give us suck. But once again, I'll be sure to forget to write an article about that. I'm obviously very good at English since I'm constantly complaining (Which is a nice way of saying bitching) about something on my website.

Tomorrow is the test. And you can be sure I'll

Do My Worse On The Test

;-)

Update: I finished the FCAT. Took the school 3 days. Technicly 4. They expect us to know X2(9Y)=(Y6*2)-X but they spoon feed to us how to use a scan tron. Bubble in the shit your suppose to. They also printed out probably about a million little rulers just for 1 problem! God. No wonder we have the stupidest kids, the teachers are stupid too.
